What this means

Official Army Chapter 10c PDF qualifying-score section verified; non-score requirements remain separate.

The score listed above is the minimum line score threshold from the official Army MOS specification. Meeting this threshold does not guarantee enlistment — additional requirements such as OPAT physical testing, security clearance, medical screening, and training availability are evaluated separately by your recruiter. To see how ST 100 compares with the rest of the Army, read what counts as a good ASVAB score.

Which ASVAB subtests count toward 74D

74D is judged on one line score. The subtests listed below are the Army's nominal definition of each aptitude area from DA PAM 611-21, Military Occupational Classification and Structure, Table 10-1 (ASVAB aptitude area composites). The score actually printed on your report is computed on the 1997 scale as a weighted sum of seven standard scores (DMDC 2004, Table 2.7) and may give weight to subtests outside the nominal list; GT is the exception and equals AR + VE exactly. Use the line score on your report, or compute it from your standard scores.

If your score is below ST ≥ 100

Your ASVAB report lists every line score, so start by finding ST and noting the exact gap. A small gap in one composite is usually closed by improving the subtests that feed it, and each subtest counts toward several line scores at once.

A retest is subject to Army retest rules and timing; ask your recruiter before planning around one. Practice results here are raw scores and never convert into an official line score.

Other Army jobs judged on ST (Skilled Technical)

Because these MOS share the ST line score with 74D, the same subtests decide your standing for all of them. Jobs at or below 74D's threshold are fallback options; jobs above it are what a higher ST unlocks.
